These Plains are Anything but Plain

Greetings to one and all!

Welcome back to the Elder Williams show (letter, email, thing)!

Today's story begins with last Monday, it was a P-day as I recall (no
idea why I'm going with a narrator voice for this, but bear with me!)
and me and my group of companion, roommates, and elders from the
Capitol Ward made an excursion to the local Bowling Alley and, well,
bowled... It was super fun (I even set a new personal best!)!
(Pictures are included!)

Tuesday, we visited with a part member family known as the Groves. The
Mom was, until recently, a less-active member but is now coming back
to church and invited her two oldest kids to attend church with her
and have the missionary discussions. Well, they accepted and they are
some of the most solid people I have taught in my whole mission! We
were able to teach them most of the Plan of Salvation and they asked
tons of super good questions! Even better, after we left (we found
this out yesterday) they asked their mom if they could get baptized
and if their Grandpa (who is an active member) could baptize them! So
things are going awesomely with them and I'm excited to continue
working with them and helping them receive the Gospel!

Much of the rest of the week was spent doing service (yard work,
building a pool, replacing siding on a house, the usual) and visiting
people that I knew last time I was in the Ward (got to visit the
Chamberlains again, which was awesome!)! On Friday night, we visited
with another part-member family, the Hydes. The husband is a less
active member and his wife is a devout Christian who has recently
shown a lot of interest in learning about the Church. We taught her
the Restoration and she LOVED it! When we got to the Great Apostasy
(which is usually the part we are kinda nervous about when teaching
devout Christians) she actually started looking up scriptures in the
Bible the talked about it and she not only found a bunch (it turns
out, Paul's Epistle to Timothy talks about it a lot), but after that,
she was completely accepting of it! She agreed to read from the Book
of Mormon and come with questions next week. Hopefully, she has the
sincere desire to know that the Church is true and comes into Christ's
church!

There are quite a few more things that happened this week, but I'm
kinda short on time! Know though that this area is amazing and so many
great things are happening!

I love you all! Have a fantastic week!

Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
