DOUBLE KILL! Also A MOO-velous Transfer (Sorry, Cowan)

Hello once again from the land of green grass, green trees, green
railing covers, and supposedly White Oaks.

This week was the end of a lot of things and the beginning of a lot of
other things! (Hooray for vague statements!)

On Tuesday, Thorpe and I had our final day in the mission office! The
whole transfer, Thorpe's goal before he went home was to get rid of
the office elder position and (fortunately for me) he succeeded! Being
in the office for a bit was kind of fun, but I'm very glad to be back
to proselyting full time!

Speaking of which, on Wednesday we had transfers and I said goodbye to
Elder Thorpe (now once again Jim), which was actually pretty sad.
Thorpe had been my longest companion and he will definitely be missed.
After saying our farewells, I met up with my new companion, Elder
Cowan (pronounced "Cow-an") and we headed back to White Oak to
continue the wonderful work of the Lord! And continue the work we
have! (Technically grammatically incorrect, but it t kinda works so
meh...). Before I continue on, a little bit about Elder Cowan: he is
from the town of Bend, OREGON (that's right, after a year of my
mission, I finally get a companion not from Utah! Funny enough, I am
also his first comp not from Utah), he has been out about 9 months,
and he spent that entire time in DC up to this point. He's also super
cool and I'm excited to spend at least this next transfer working with
him in the service of the Lord!

Saturday, we were able to meet with Mesfin, a less-active member of
the Ward that was a weekly appointment with the Amharic Elders until
the program got shut down a transfer ago. We were able to have a super
awesome lesson with him and Elder Bell, one of the former Amharic
Elders (told us about Mesfin). I'm super excited to be able to
continue meeting with him. We shared part of the the talk by President
Uchtdorf from last conference about the Parable of the Lost Sheep. I
know that our Savior is there for us and wants us all to come unto him
and allow him to help us and heal us!

That's about all from me this week! Sonia is still in El Salvador, but
will get back the beginning of next week, after that, it's the final
preparation for her baptism at the end of this month! I'm super
excited for her to have the blessing of the gospel in her life!

I love you all and I hope y'all have a fantastic week!

Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
