Howdy everyone!
This week, we had exchanges with Elders Hirzel and Barduhn on
Wednesday. I stayed in the area and received Hirzel (because the trend
of me never leaving my area seems to continue). During the exchange,
we taught a really good lesson to a woman named Ange, who was
incredibly touched by the message of the Restoration and wants to
continue meeting with missionaries. The only problem is that her
French is a lot stronger than her English so she should go to the
French branch and meet with the French missionaries. However, at the
moment, there are no French missionaries assigned to the branch to
refer her to so for the moment, we are at a bit of an impasse with her
at the moment. Hopefully things can be figured out though because she
is super cool and very interested! Other than that though, the day as
a whole was pretty slow as far as lessons were concerned but overall
it was a good exchange.
On Thursday, we were able to meet with Omosayin, a man who we had
delivered a Bible and Book of Mormon to about a month or so back but
he hadn't been able to meet with us since because of his schedule.
When we got there, we found out that he's been meeting with some
missionaries online that have been (and kinda still are) teaching him
the discussions. So we kinda had to completely change our plans at the
last second and teach him the Gospel of Jesus Christ using 2 Nephi 31,
which is something I haven't done in a really long time, but the
lesson went pretty well all things considered. Apparently he met with
the online missionaries last night as well, so we are probably going
to have to talk to the other missionaries and Omosayin about figuring
out what is actually going on at the moment because it's kinda
confusing... The good news though is that he was able to come to
church on Sunday and really liked it. He told us that he knows that
joining the church and being baptized is what God wants him to do and
so he plans to do so! I'm excited to continue working with him once we
figure out what's going on with the other missionaries!
The other big thing from this week was that on Friday, we spent pretty
much the whole day at the Renberg's (an awesome family in the Ward)
helping them clean up their yard (they have a very big and forestey
yard) for an Easter party they were having the next day. It was really
fun but a lot of hard work and both Elder Talbot and I were very tired
and sore afterwards!
And that was basically all of the noteworthy moments of this week!
Attached is a photo of a lot of the missionaries at the Cherry Blossom
Festival last week. I love you all! Have a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
