I realized a few days ago that this transfer is almost over already!
That's crazy! I'm surprised how fast it's flown by!
This week, we got to do a lot of service! Particularly yard work!
During the storm about a week ago, a tree fell into Sonia's (one of
our investigators) backyard and through her fence, so we got to help
Scott (another investigator) clear out the yard. Which they were
appreciative of and we got to actually get in contact with Scott as we
hadn't been able to meet him up to that point. Though while we were
talking to him, he let us know that he's continuing to read the Book
of Mormon along with the New Testament and that he's been able to see
how it has blessed his life! I'm excited to be able to continue
meeting with him and see how the Gospel will bless his life as he
comes unto Christ!
We were also able to visit with Brother Swarzak this week! Once again,
he couldn't hear Elder Harrison at all so I had to act as voice for
the companionship. It went well though and he definitely felt the
Spirit and wanted to come to church provided we could get him a belt
and a ride there. Unfortunately, he got cold feet Saturday night and
didn't come, but hopefully this week will be the week he comes back to
church!
A good chunk of the rest of the week was spent driving about so Elder
Harrison could send things home. He goes home in eight days so his
time is swiftly drawing to an end.
Saturday was spent helping a member of the Ward who had been going
through some tough times work on a yard project basically redoing his
whole yard. It was a lot of fun and was a good experience learning
more about/getting better at yard work and landscaping. Of course, it
was also awesome to be able to provide service for the wonderful
members that do so much for us as missionaries! Part of that day was
also spent hunting for a belt for Brother Swarzak. Unfortunately,
despite our best efforts, we were unsuccessful (turns out, it's really
hard to find belts at size 48).
Yesterday, the sisters in the Ward had a baptism, which was awesome!
I'm always happy to see the work progressing forward!
Well, that's about all from me this week! I love you all! Have a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
