Howdy y'all!
This has been a fairly eventful week! My assignment in the office this
week was mostly to clean "broken" vacuums and see if I could make them
not broken. Upon inspection of the vacuums, I found that in most
cases, the issue was that the vacuum rollers had become so clogged up
with hair, that it prevented any movement. Lesson learned: clean your
vacuum regularly or things will get quite hairy, pun intended.
(Picture included, it actually made it into the training slideshow for
apartment maintenance (soon I'll be mission famous, mwahahaha)). I
also did a bunch of filing and other such menial tasks. Overall,
fairly uneventful, though this next week should be crazy because on
July 1st when the new mission president gets here, my mission is
getting the Annapolis Stake from the Baltimore mission, which means a
bunch of extra apartments and missionaries to figure stuff out for!
The time NOT spent in the office was actually super busy! Brother
Swarzak continues to do awesomely! He called us in the middle of the
day to tell us that he read the entire book of Isaiah and later to
tell us that he read all of the psalms in one sitting as well!
We also spent quite a bit of time with Sonia and Scott this week.
While we were there, they opened up to us about everything that they
have been dealing with for the last couple of years and I'll just say,
they are not in a good spot right now... Though they did come to
church on Sunday and met with bishop, which we think helped them out.
All of the talks/lessons in church this week were EXACTLY what they
needed to hear! Inspiration is seriously real!
On Thursday Elder Thorpe went to a departing dinner with the Cookes,
therefore, I had the opportunity to go on exchange in Laurel briefly.
It was fun being able to return to my old area, though I am definitely
loving White Oak still!
On Saturday, we had our final interviews with President and Sister
Cooke, which was pretty sad. I'm going to miss them a lot, though I'm
excited to meet the Johnsons because I've heard that they are awesome
from everyone that has talked to them! They get here this week so
that's exciting!
I love you all! Have a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
