Sing, Sing, Sing

Welcome back to the Elder Williams email block!

This week was a pretty good week! On much of Tuesday and Friday as
usual, I sat around in the office attempting to keep myself sane, but
the OTHER days of the week (and even during those days) great this
happened!

On Wednesday, we had interviews with President and Sister Johnson,
which went really well! I'm super excited to serve with them! Sister
Johnson was also made aware (and is now very aware (more on that
later)) of my singing, so my life should be fun for the next year!

On Wednesday and Friday, Thorpe and I got to meet with the
investigators that we found last week. Wednesday morning, we met with
Rodney, a man who was found by the Chinese Sisters and was interested
in meeting with us. He had a grandma pass away recently and we
therefore taught him the Plan of Salvation, the Spirit was very strong
and he was very accepting and excited about everything we taught him.
After the lesson, he said that he'd read the Book of Mormon and come
to church after this week! I'm excited to continue working with him!
On Friday, we got to leave the office early and teach Betkadu, an
Ethiopian immigrant who requested a copy of the Book of Mormon and was
interested in hearing more about it and the difference between our
church and every other church. So we went over and taught him the
Restoration and answered a bunch of questions he had about that very
topic, by the end of the lesson, he was excited to read the Book of
Mormon and continue meeting with us! I love seeing all of these
miracles happen here and feel so privileged to be able to witness
them!

On Sunday, I got to sing a solo in sacrament meeting! I sang "A Poor
Wayfaring Man of Grief" and it went AWESOMELY! The Spirit was super
strong as well! It was great! Why I Believe was also yesterday and I
got drafted to sing in a group of all of the departing missionaries
during it (I got a lot of weird looks and questions that night, it was
pretty great)!

Also on Sunday, my Ward (technically Thorpe and I but not really) had
a baptism! A man named Victor, who was taught by the Spanish Elders
but has a wife and kids in our Ward, was baptized, which was awesome,
yet confusing to figure out!

And that was my week! As I said, it was pretty awesome! I love being
able to use the gift of music to help people feel of the Spirit! I
just love being a missionary in general though! I hope all of you have
a wonderful week!

Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
