Preparing For the Kill

Bonjour!

Why French, you ask? Well, that's for me to know and y'all to find out!

Wednesday was temple trip! Once again, I love the opportunity I have
to attend the temple each transfer! Thursday was the final
zone-district meeting of the transfer (Thorpe's last of the mission,
which was weird for him). So that means, I have PICTURES!

Much of this week was spent with activities related to Thorpe going
home. As such, I spent a lot of time on exchange with other
missionaries. Friday, I went on exchange with Elder Demill, one of the
French Elders. While there, we had several lessons and surprise
surprise, I don't speak French! Though oddly enough, although I've
never had any experience with the language before, by the end of the
night, I had a better idea of understanding French than I do of
Spanish. So that's fun!

On Saturday, one of Elder Thorpe's recent converts went through the
temple for his endowment and requested that Elder Thorpe be his escort
through it. As Elder Carroll's (previous companion) companion also
taught the man in question, I went to the DC 3rd North area with Elder
Carroll and had my first experience with missionary work in the city!
And by "missionary work in the city" I mean pulling weeds in the
summer sun for a less active member of their Ward! It also just
happened to be really freaking hot and humid outside, so lots of sweat
was had that day!

Sunday was Thorpe's last Sunday in the mission. As such, we got to
visits a bunch of people in the Ward so Thorpe could say his last
goodbyes (the transfer calls came the night before and I found out
that I was staying in White Oak, so a lot of it was "We will miss you
Elder Thorpe, and we'll see you soon Williams" it was fairly amusing).

Well, that's all from me this week. Next week, we will find out such
amazing news as who my new  companion will be and if any other fun
stuff will happen to me!

I love you all! Have an amazing week!

Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
