Omasayin and a Brown Trio

Hello everyone once again from Laurel, MD!

So this was a very good week! For one, we had transfers on Wednesday
and Elder Talbot and I are continuing to stay together and received
Elder Brown (who was actually trained by Elder Sorensen immediately
after I left White Plains the first time, so that's really cool!).
Elder Brown is from Richfield, Utah (thus continuing and concluding my
trend of having only companions from Utah for periods longer than two
weeks) and is super awesome! The three of us get along super well and
are very excited for these next weeks together. "Why did we get put in
a trio?" You ask? Well, as it turns out, I will be heading home on
July 12th, which happens to be smack-dab in the middle of next
transfer. So in order to allow for a smoother transition when I leave
the area, I will be in a trio for the last eight weeks of my mission,
which is pretty crazy that I've hit that point already!

Anywho, we started off our transfer in a trio by performing some
service for our Ward mission leader by helping them lay some rocks and
cement for a pond they were renovating in their back yard. Which was
really fun, but hot, muddy, and exhausting (supposedly, the weather
got up to almost 90 that day so we couldn't have picked a better time
to be out working on a project like that if we tried!).

Friday, we were able to meet with Christiana again and teach her some
more of the Commandments! The lesson went great as always and we were
even able to put her on date to be baptized on June 11th (though that
date might need to be bumped forward or backward a week because of her
work schedule). I am SUPER excited to have had and to continue to have
the opportunity to see how the Gospel is blessing her life and see her
enter the waters of baptism!

Saturday, we helped a family that was investigating the church move
out of their apartment, which was also really good! Thankfully, we had
a rainstorm the night before so the weather was much cooler that day!
That night, we had Ward Correlation with Brother Taylor, the Ward
Mission Leader and also said our goodbyes to them as they are moving
this week to Tennessee, which is really sad. They will be greatly
missed!

The good news though, speaking of baptism, is that the Taylors were
there yesterday for a last hurrah to see Omosayin get baptized! There
was an amazing service with a great turnout and overall it was super
awesome! What was even cooler (for me at least) was that Omosayin
actually asked me to baptize him, so I had the wonderful opportunity
of doing that! It truly was amazing to be able to help Omosayin make
that first covenant with Heavenly Father that will help him on his
path towards returning to the presence of God!

That night, we had another great experience in teaching Melanie, a
woman who was referred to us by missionaries from another language
program that tracked into her. We were able to teach her the
Restoration and had an amazing visit with her! She is super excited
for our next visit where we will talk more about how we can be with
our families forever! We are very excited to continue meeting with her
as well!

I love you all! Have a fantastic week!

Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
