Happy February!!!
This has been a great week! It was a tad slow getting started, but it
ended quite amazingly!
Monday, we were still snowed in, but we were allowed a few hours to go
out and get food/supplies for the week. We were finally allowed out on
Tuesday though!
Speaking of Tuesday, we had interviews with President Cooke on
Tuesday. While there, President told Elder Sorensen and I that we are
staying together for another transfer! This was confirmed on Saturday
night when the staying/leaving calls came and indeed, I will be
spending the next seven weeks continuing to serve the people of the
White Plains Second Ward! I am super excited! I love this Ward so much
and I feel so privileged to be here at this time!
On Wednesday, we had the mission-wide temple trip, which was, like
always, amazing! I love the temple so much! As I've said before, it
truly is the house of the Lord and the Spirit there is so strong! I
feel so honored to serve in a mission where I have the opportunity to
attend the temple every six weeks! I've gained so much strength from
the blessings of the temple!
On Friday, we taught Jaymie (how her name is actually spelled, as I
found out) the final lesson and went over the baptismal interview
questions with her! Her baptism interview was Saturday (she passed
with flying colors), and her baptism was yesterday! It was AMAZING!
The Spirit was so powerful and she was SUPER happy afterwards! She
gets confirmed next Sunday! We are now going to start teaching her
8-year-old daughter, Jaelyn, who wants to be baptized on the 14th of
this month! I've truly seen how much the gospel has blessed the life
of Jaymie and how it will bless Jaelyn as she prepares to be baptized!
Rewinding a bit, on Saturday, to celebrate having Stake Conference
(which was also this weekend), all the missionaries in my district ate
lunch at the Slaughter's house (a family in the 1st Ward). It was
REALLY good! We then went to Suitland's Stake Conference (the Elders
were invited to all of the sessions, so we spent pretty much all of
Saturday up there).
As I said, this has been an amazing week and I'm super excited to
spend at least another seven weeks down here in White Plains!
I love you all! Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
