Happy Leap Day everyone!
Well, the 23rd of February has officially come and gone and I am now
19! For the record, being 19 feels... Exactly the same as being 18,
except if it were 3-4 years ago, I'd just now be able to leave on my
mission as opposed to the present where I will be hitting my 7 month
mark on Saturday, which is totally crazy!
Tuesday was my birthday and it was more or less a regular day, just
with the occasional "happy birthday", which I'm fine with. I'm out
here to serve and the fact that I was able to do that made it a very
happy birthday for me!
On Thursday, I went on exchange with the Elders in the Capitol Ward
(they are in a trio right now, so I went with Elders Palmer and Bias
while Elder Sorensen took Elder Gipson down to our area for the day).
It was pretty fun. We basically spent the entire time trying to
contact some of the referrals they've received. Though, it's the first
time in a while that I've been able to cook my own dinner, which was
actually pretty enjoyable. That being said, I'm very grateful to
anyone that takes time our of their schedule to feed the missionaries.
It is always very much appreciated!
Friday was zone conference. A lot of the trainings during it were on
patience, follow up, and using the Book of Mormon. Overall, a great
conference! I feel like I learned a lot from it!
On Saturday, the son of one of the members of the Ward had his baptism
and he asked us to help out with it. Elder Sorensen and I got to
sing/sign the primary song "Gethsemane" for a special musical number,
it went pretty well, considering that I didn't get to learn the sign
language until that morning.
That's about all from me for this week. Sadly, we haven't been able to
meet with either Monica or Stephanie, but hopefully that'll change
this upcoming week! I know the church is true and I'm excited to
continue to serve Heavenly Father and His children in this upcoming
week and on to the rest of my mission!
I love you all! Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Elder Sam Williams
